Natural gas plant to be built to power oil industry in North Dakota

The Bismarck Tribune published this story about how low cost, abundant natural gas is being used to fuel the booming oil industry in North Dakota.

“Basin Electric Power Cooperative has started work on a natural gas-fueled plant that will help meet the oil industry’s electric power demands.

The Pioneer station will be built about 15 miles northwest of Williston. It will be near a natural gas processing plant that’s also under construction.

They both will be tied into a rural cooperative electric substation.”
